Ingredients

  • 2 cups Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Robin Hood Oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 cups apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Sauce
  • 1 pkg toffee bits
  • 1/3 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9” x 13” (3 L) baking pan and line with parchment paper overlapping two sides for easy removal.
  • Combine, flour, oats, sugar, baking soda, nutmeg and salt in a large mixing bowl until well mixed. Cut butter in with pastry blender or two knives until crumbs form. Press half of mixture into bottom of prepared pan.
  • Mix apples, lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon in a separate large bowl. Scatter evenly over base. Sprinkle with remaining crumble mixture, press lightly.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden. Cool slightly then cut into squares.
  • Sauce: Place toffee bits in a 4-cup (1 L) glass measuring cup. Stir in cream. Microwave, uncovered on High (100%), 2 to 3 minutes stirring every 30 seconds until toffee bits melt and sauce forms.
  • Drizzle over squares.
